Kalanchoe Silver Leaves. The succulent is known to be shrubby and can reach up to 90 cm 3ft tall. Bracteata has a silvery pubescence there are varieties with smooth leaves.
Kalanchoe thyrsiflora silver platter a low growing succulent shrub to 18 inches tall with broad rounded chalky gray leaves and spikes of dark yellow fragrant flowers. Hence the nickname elephant ear. Plant in full sun in a well drained soil and irrigate occasionally to very little.
The species can be a bit variable but our plants appear grayish silvery white because of a pubescence of appressed short stellate hairs.
At the bottom the leaf is arched making it look like elephant ears. Anywhere sunny you can enjoy the leaf colour quite happy in containers. Plant in full sun in a well drained soil and irrigate occasionally to very little. It has 1 to 2 inch long ovate leaves with a slight point at the tip and short petioles.
