Giant Celosia. There are many species of celosia but the most common one grown in our gardens is celosia argentea. Celosia is a heat tolerant flower known for producing vibrant velvety blooms with three primary forms.
It flowers in shades of pink or red purple and often self sows with the right. Wheat celosia as you might guess looks a bit like wheat. Celosia is native to north africa.
The flowers of this species are often dried out and preserved for decoration as they keep their color for a long time.

A crested type celosia cristata also known as cockscomb celosia. There are two types of celosia that are commonly known in horticultural circles. Unlike amaranth it is not edible.
